It’s not over yet!

Does anybody share my feeling that the golf season is more or less over? The Ryder Cup has come and gone, the Fed Ex Cup is finished and the PGA Tour Championship has been played. The PGA Tour has entered what they call the Fall Series and it seems like most of the top players have packed in their clubs for the winter. The European Tour is stopping in St Andrews this week but at the Dunhill Links it is not really the golf that is in the forefront when the celebrities make their way around the Old Course. Of course there is still the Volvo Masters left to be played and the European Tour are doing their best to hype the upcoming Race to Dubai which starts in 33 days (today). I must admit that I struggle to find it particularly exciting though.

On the other hand in the amateur game there is a lot more to look out for. The World Amateur Championships are soon underway in Adelaide, Australia, with the women starting already this coming week and the men following the week after. The England Team with Luke Goddard, Sam Hutsby and Dale Whitnell are packing their bags to fly out on Sunday the 5th to get ready.

There is competitive golf being played in Australia this weekend as well. English Amateur Champion Todd Addcock and Andrew Sullivan represent the EGU in the Federal Amateur and you can follow the action on the Federal Golf Club website.
